How to Set up Data Sync for Salesforce.com

The Oktopost Salesforce Data Sync automatically pushes Oktopost analytical data to native Salesforce objects. The object data can be used to create customized dashboards and reports, as well as use Salesforce as a gateway to connected BI or gamification platforms such as Hoopla and Badgeville.

Requirements

To be able to integrate Oktopost and Salesforce, you must:

  • Have a Salesforce account (Salesforce API Access required).
  • Have permissions to install packages into Salesforce.
  • Have a license in Oktopost.

Step 1: Install the Package

To install the package, click the link below. This will open in a new tab and take you to Salesforce. If you are not logged into Salesforce already you will be prompted to do so. Follow the instructions on Salesforce, and continue the step-by-step instructions below to configure the package.

Step 2: Start Sync from Oktopost

Head over to the Integrations tab in your account, select Salesforce → Packages and click on the Activate link next to the Social Data Sync headline. Once activated, Oktopost will sync your data with Salesforce once a day. 

Step 3. Check-out the Sample Dashboard

The installed package comes with some sample reports and a dashboard. You can find the dashboard under the Oktopost Dashboards folder.
