Apart from sharing original content, curating interesting articles from around the web is an excellent way to provide your audience with valuable content. With our Content Discovery engine, you can easily share articles - tailored specifically to your preference.
Setting up interests
The content discovery engine basically lets you pre-define topics or interests you want to follow and then share the articles you find from one place. Interests are set up based on keywords, very much like a search engine lookup.
To setup a new interest just go to your Content tab and enter the topic you'd like to follow inside the text box. Once the topic is set up, you should see the results in the right-hand side of the screen. Please note that it may take a few seconds for our engine to get relevant results if you're setting up a topic for the first time.
Sharing articles from the content discovery tab is really simple, all you have to do is click on the article title, text or image and that will pop up the sharing console with article's title and link pre-populated in the message box.
Once an article has been shared at least once it will show up in lighter shade of grey and in non-bolded fonts. Articles can also be discarded by clicking on the Hide button below each item. To view an article, just click on the domain link below each item.
Refining your search
Once an interest is set up in Oktopost, our engine basically scours the web based for articles matching the interest title you defined. The results are then brought back to you based on relevancy. All results are based on articles found within the last 7 days. You also have an option to hone your search by adding extra rules to base the search on:
- Must Contain Keywords - a list of comma delimited keywords that your article MUST contain.
- Should Contain Keywords - a list of comma delimited keywords that your article should contain. When setting up a new interest, this is the default option.
- Should NOT Contain Keywords - a list of comma delimited keywords that your article should NOT contain.
To refine your search, just find the Cog icon at the top right-hand side of the screen when a certain interest is selected.
