Oktopost Tracking with Google Tag Manager

Google Tag Manager is a tag management system that allows you to easily update tags and code snippets on your website and mobile app. You can add and update snippets from dozens of services including AdWords, Google Analytics, and now Oktopost directly from the Tag Manager interface instead of editing code.

Set Up The Oktopost Tracking Code

  1. In Oktopost, head over to My Profile → API and copy your Account Id.
  2. In Google Tag Manager, create a new tag and select Oktopost from the list.
  3. Paste the Account Id you previously copied to the Oktopost Account Id input.
  4. Select the tag firing preference. By default, we recommend using it on All Pages.
  5. Submit the changes and that's it!

Once the tag is set up you can go back to Oktopost and set up conversion tracking or create additional tags to track conversions.

Tracking Conversions With Tag Manager

  1. In Oktopost, head over to My Profile → API and copy your Account Id.
  2. In Google Tag Manager, create a new tag and select Oktopost from the list.
  3. Paste the Account Id you previously copied to the Oktopost Account Id input.
  4. Choose Conversions under Track Type.
  5. Enter the conversion type, for example: Contact or Signup.
  6. Choose the tag firing preference. Note that if the tag fires before the visitor had filled in a web-form, the conversion will remain anonymous.
  7. Save the tag and submit the changes.
