How to Export Reports and Dashboards

Oktopost's Social BI allows you to quickly export reports and dashboards from your account, and share them with your colleagues in user-friendly formats or send them to external reporting systems.

Exporting Reports and Dashboards

To export reports or dashboards, click on the Export icon on each report or choose Export from the dashboard menu. That will allow you to export the specific report or dashboard that you're viewing, without selecting the Export Type.

If you want to export a report from scratch, go to Social BI > Exports and click on New Export to open the export window. Select the Export Type based on the following options:

Type Description Formats
Raw Data Raw, BI-ready, social metrics (Posts, Profiles, and Clicks). CSV
Dashboard Any dashboard in Social BI. CSV, PDF, and PPT
Report Any report in your Social BI dashboards. CSV, PDF, and PPT
Now, select the report, dashboard, or data source, that you want to export. Next, select the export format and reporting period.

Recurring Exports

If you want to set up a recurring export to a predefined location, you can do it by choosing Recurring, versus One-Time Export. That will allow you to select the sending Frequency and Export Method. You can choose from the following methods to export your data.

Option Description
Amazon S3 Oktopost will connect to your Amazon S3 bucket and upload the export file to a designated folder. To use this option, you will need to provide your AWS Access Keys.
Email Oktopost will send an email containing a download link to the chosen email address.
sFTP Secure File Transfer Protocol. Oktopost will connect to your server using sFTP and upload the file to the target folder.
FTP File Transfer Protocol. Oktopost will connect to your server using FTP and upload the file to the target folder.
Microsoft Azure Oktopost will connect to your Microsoft Azure storage account and upload the exported file to a designated container.

Note that the server name configuration in both FTP and sFTP options cannot contain an IP address and should not contain an http\s prefix.

File Naming Format

All exported files will be named according to the following convention:

[DATE]-[ACCOUNT_NAME]-[EXPORT_DATA_TYPE]-[EXPORT_TIME-PERIOD].[EXPORT_FORMAT]

For example:

2016-04-20-ibm-clicks-export-last-90-days.csv

Date and Time Format

All dates and times, in both reports and export setup, are displayed according to Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).
